December 29, 2016 marked the newest phase in the history of Pheasant Hollow Winery when the seven minority shareholders purchased the shares of the two majority shareholders making Pheasant Hollow a truly family owned winery. The current owners, who have been partners since the winery opened July 4th 1999, are all from the Pontious, Becker & Griggs families from Breese, Norris City and Ziegler, Illinois and Van Buren, MO
Brad Pontious is the President and General Manager. John Becker, is Vice President, Treasurer & Wholesale Sales Manager and his wife Ulonda Pontious Becker is Tasting Room & Gift Shop Manager. Adrea Pontious, is Vice President, Secretary & Event Coordinator and her husband, Jack Griggs is the Marketing and Winery Festival Manager. Non-active owners are Brice and Eva Pontious.
At Pheasant Hollow Winery, we hope to create a friendly and pleasant atmosphere for our customers to enjoy the finest grape and fruit wines. We are increasing events in which we offer music for our customers listening enjoyment while they sip our award winning wines. We hope to add additional festivals, murder mystery dinner theaters, and wine paring dinners in the future.
We have already made many improvements to facilities and our wooded grounds. We are also continuing to add space and equipment to increase production capabilities to meet the growing demand for our wines.
